Transferring A Domain To Our Servers

NOTE: The following instructions pertain to domains registered through Network Solutions and transferring the domain to our servers by making changes to the Primary and Secondary Name Server Information. There are many registrars across the internet, each having their own methods in which changes can be made. Please refer to the specific registrar in which the domain was registered through for instructions to change the name server information.

1. Go to Network Solutions web site located at http://www.networksolutions.com. Below is a partial shot of the screen you will see.

1. Click on "Make Changes" located in the upper right hand portion of the screen.

2. Next enter the name of the domain that you are wanting to transfer and then click submit.

3. Next you will be given two options, just select the Expert box.

4. Next you will need to select the first link "Service Agreement".

5. In the next screen you will need to enter the email address which was used to originally register the domain name. You must use the correct email address or what you are doing will not take effect. Below the email box you will see the name of the domain your are transferring already completed. Ensure that Modify Existing Domain Name Registration is selected then click submit.

6. In the next screen you will see all of the info on this domain name. You need to scroll down to the Technical Contact section and change the NIC handle to reflect your NIC handle with Network Solutions.

7. Next you need to scroll down to the Primary and Secondary name server information and change what is there to reflect either our Name Servers or your own if you have them.

9. Once you've double checked all of your entries, scroll down and click on the "SUBMIT THIS FORM FOR PROCESSING" button.

The next screen will indicate that you have completed the Domain Transfer process and will inform you that you will receive a confirmation email from InterNIC confirming the domain transfer. ATTENTION RESELLERS - You must inform your customer that they will be receiving this confirmation and that they must reply to it according to the instructions InterNIC has provided on that email. The reply must contain the original text from InterNIC, AOL users may find it necessary to cut and paste this information to a new mail message. If InterNIC receives the confirmation without the original text, or from an email address other than the one used to register the domain name originally, they will not process the domain transfer request. The reply must be sent in text format.
